Sandy Knudson

Sandy

Sandy has been dancing with children for 25 years, teaching traditional dances in her elementary music classroom. She counts Peter and Mary Alice Amidon and Martha Riley as great mentors for teaching dance to children. Sandy became a member of Scissortail Traditional Dance Society (STDS) and CDSS in the fall of 2008. She has joyously become a dance gypsy and caller. In the fall of 2011, she and Miranda Arana found a venue for a monthly Norman dance. In this venue, she has enjoyed learning how to teach dance to enthusiastic beginners. Sandy has called at open mic events at dance weekends, and regularly calls in Oklahoma City, Norman, and in Wichita, Ks.
